Chickens

We just recently became the proud new owners of ... CHICKENS! A friend helped Phillip build this coop on wheels - so we can move it in and out of garage while the chickens are still too young to be outside. After these twelve chickens grow a bit and get their feathers, we can move them outside to live. I have to say: I did NOT think that owning chickens could be so fun. It is really entertaining watching the kids love on their little chicks. These little creatures are really fun. I look forward to when they can start laying eggs! Fresh eggs are the BEST. Many thanks to our friends who allowed us to get these chickens from them and helped with the coop. We appreciate it so much!

Awesome! Carl will be so jealous of that coop! This is something we have always wanted to do, but have yet to have the opportunity.

Aren't the simpler things in life wonderful - Thank God for them. I grew up with chickens and it teaches a lot of valuable lessons such as responsibility. Thanks for sharing such cute pictures.

We just got chickens, too! We have two barred rocks also (Daisy and Pansy) and two cornish (Lily and Yeti---the oops-it's-a-rooster). I am not a bird person, and I thought I would hate having chickens, but I LOVE them!
