Does She Know . . . What She Gave Me???

I feel like this is what little Chloe is thinking as she is enjoying her very first popsicle. I had given her a fruit flavored popsicle and let her go at it. As she tentatively put it in her mouth - her eyes just got HUGE! I don't think I could have pried that popsicle out of her hand if I wanted to. She was serious about that thing. I just love these pics of her because it shows just how big her blue eyes are. She is a joy and this moment was so much fun.
On another note: I mentioned in an earlier post about having an upcoming doctor appt. Well, I asked her many questions and we went over my history of prior pregnancies, prior baby's birth weights, the fact that the 10+ pounders had low blood sugar at birth, and some other things. She thinks that I am what is called sub-clinical diabetic. Which means that I am only presenting diabetic in certain cases, ie: pregnancy. I had my suspicions, even during prior pregnancies but because my results from the glucose test always came back negative - didn't give much more thought to them. However, she said that it could be possible that the test isn't picking up on it because it may be developing closer to my due dates or just not registering.
So now I am adhering to a caloric diet as well as watching my sugar/carb. intake and increasing protein. Which is great - I am thankful for someone being bold enough to delve into my history etc. It has been a few days since that appt. and I am starting to notice a difference in how I am feeling. Let me tell ya - I had NEVER watched my calories on sugar/carbs. before and now that I am I am amazed at just HOW MUCH sugar is in things. Crazy. I am thankful and excited at the prospect of having the tools to help this and subsequent pregnancies be more healthy. It makes me even more motivated for post - partum healthiness.

Those pics are so cute of Chlo-bug. Her eyes are so big and bright. I will definatly have to show these to Jadon:) As far as the dr appt. I am happy you have some answers and glad this will help you after the baby is born as well. Stop eating stuff with high fructose corn syrup...it will help a lot as well. High fructose corn syrup is much higher in calories than regular sugar. It is not good for a person either.
LOve you and let me know the dates when you get a chance, I am waiting to hear back from Jason.

These pictures are very sweet. She is such a cutie, and what a fun memory. I am so glad that you found out that info from your doctor. It is such a bummer feeling poorly, and a hindrance, I imagine especially when you have 5 little ones to care for. Praise the Lord for giving you such a good health care provider. I am so glad to hear you are feeling better already!

You will feel like a new women getting sugar out. That is basically what I am on. No to low sugar and counting them calories...I was what they called borderline diabetic with my last two babies, plus the last time I went to the Dr and had bloodwork they said I was borderline, being non pregnant. That is what motivated me to get the weight off. Do an internet search on sugar. You will be amazed at all the things sugar causes. Praying for you!(((Hugs)))

What a blessing that you got this answer, information is power! It really does make a difference too, this the same thing that happened to me... Gabriel was about 10 lbs, so with the next baby I received some dietary counseling, and that baby and the next were both 8 pounders. Malachi was a little over 9 lbs, which tells me that I need to be more careful about the sugar/carbs next time. When we keep our blood sugars stable, the baby can't pack on all that extra fat (more than it should). How wonderful that you can feel a difference already. Praise God.

That is so great that you are feeling better! I am also noticing that this high protein low carb/sugar and low calorie diet is helping me cope with "all day sickness" with this baby! I still am sick but there is a noticeable difference. Your Chloe is so sweet and such a beautiful girl!! I am so glad you have two beautiful girls to watch as best friends! It is so much fun!
